What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR, was founded by Francine Shapiro, PhD. It is an evidence and body-based therapy modality used to reprocess stuck emotions, beliefs, memories, and patterns.

EMDR is primarily used to treat PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and distressing memories by alleviating the distress associated. By removing blocks, EMDR supports the brains natural mental healing process.

Yes! EMDR is a psychotherapy treatment used in therapy sessions and can be billed under your mental health coverage.

How does EMDR work?

EMDR pairs dual stimulation (tappers, tones, eye movement) with concentrating on memories, beliefs, sensations, etc to reprocess experiences and remove blocks.
